A delivery man who made sexual comments to a 15-year-old boy and touched him inappropriately has been jailed.

Albert Leroy Wallace, of Sandy Lane South, Wallington, first approached the boy, who was with a girl, when he saw him upset at a bus stop in Banstead High Street in March.

Wallace, 29, offered them a lift to the boy's home but instead drove them to his home where he led them through his rear garden to a shed, which was converted to a bedroom.

After locking the door, they all sat on the bed and Wallace stripped to his underwear.

Wallace cuddled the boy, made sexual comments and began touching him inappropriately. His victim was invited to undress further, which he refused to do.

After repeatedly asking to go home, the boy and his female friend were dropped off outside Tesco in Banstead High Street.

The incident was reported to police and Wallace was arrested.

He was sentenced to a 16 months jail sentence for sexual activity with a male under 16-years-old when he appeared at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, June 22.

He had pleaded guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing in May.

The court ruled that Wallace's sentence was to run concurrently with a two-month sentence for breach of a community rehabilitation order.

Detective Constable Jo Farrelly said: "We are committed to robustly investigating such cases in order to ensure that the most vulnerable members of our community are protected."
